A paper presented by John Tharakan at the International Meeting of Province Development Offices at Nairobi on “The New Management Approach”. The paper proposes an integral approach to development. The inherence violence in inequality needs to be recognized and the consequent trauma healed. A non-violent pedagogy needs to replace the repressive system that apes the dominator model of society. Healing of past traumas needs to go hand in hand with active participatory relationships and spirituality that gives up privileges and practices equality.
